Trend Micro uit Cupertino California (USA), is momenteel de grootste leverancier van server-based antivirus in de wereld. Trend Micro heeft circa 1600 medewerkers in dienst in 24 vestigingen wereldwijd. In de ruim 14 jaar van haar bestaan heeft Trend Micro zich altijd toegelegd op bescherming van het netwerk in plaats van zich alleen te concentreren op de desktop wat bij de concurrentie het geval is geweest. Trend Micro heeft voor vele vernieuwingen gezorgd in de anti-virus technologie getuige de producten waar zij altijd als ‘eerste' mee op de markt komt.
Opvallend is het feit dat alle Trend Micro producten gebruik maken van dezelfde scanning engine en viruspattern files wat het beheer aanzienlijk vereenvoudigd. Met TVCS (Trend Virus Control System) welke alle Trend Micro oplossingen verenigd in een eenvoudige HTML beheertool heeft Trend Micro een unieke positie op de anti-virus en content management markt.
